Earth Hour is a global event organized by WWF (World Wildlife Fund) and is held on the last Saturday of March annually, asking households and businesses to turn off their non-essential lights for one hour to raise awareness towards the need to take action on climate change. Earth Hour 2010 is going to take place today, March 27, 2010 from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., at the participant's respective local time. People across the world will turn off their lights and join together in celebration and contemplation of the one thing we all have in common – our planet. A list of 1,387 icons and landmarks worldwide will turn off their lights for Earth Hour, including:

- Big Ben, London
- Colosseum, Rome
- Eiffel Tower, Paris
- Empire State Building, New York City
- Leaning Tower of Pisa, Pisa
- London Eye, London
- Niagara Falls
- Pyramids of Giza, Cairo
- Sagrada Família, Barcelona
- Sydney Opera House, Sydney
